Arnold Competition Information

Arnold Classic is a sports festival as well as a trade expo which takes place in the USA, South America, Europe and Africa each year. More than 70 competitions will be hosted by various sporting disciplines over the Arnold Classic Africa weekend, with an estimated 22,000 participants and 90,000 attendees!

Arnold Classic Africa takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg between 17th – 19th May 2019.

There will be two main pole competitions;

1. Pole Art Performance Competition 2019
2. Pole Icon 2019

About Pole Art Performance Competition 2019
During this event each Pole Art Performance competitor will perform a choreographed 3-3.30 minute routine to music displaying their technical and artistic ability in a pole performance. Competitors will be judged by experienced judges.

Who can take part in Pole Art Performance Competition?
Solos and Duets (including same or mixed gender pairs)

Age Groups (on the day of final) for Pole Art Performance Competition include:
14-17 Girls
14-17 Boys
18-39 Women
18-39 Men
40+ Women
40+ Men
50+ Women
50+ Men

Divisions/Levels for Pole Art Performance Competition include:
Amateur
Intermediate
Advanced

How do you enter Pole Art Performance Competition?
All competitors are required to enter by sending a 2-minute video entry and by completing an online entry form. The entry forms will be available before the end of January. I will send you the links to the entry forms as soon as they go live.
Early bird video entries due 5th April 2019 – R300 Solos / R450 Duets.
Final video entries due 19th April 2019 – R350 / R500.

We are honoured to add that Pole Art Performance Competition 2019 is a qualifying event for Pole Championship Series 2020 in Columbus Ohio at THE original Arnold Classic USA.

About Pole Icon 2019
Pole Icon is a static tricks presentation competition. The moves are predetermined by the organisers and can be found in the attached documents ‘Pole Icon Move Lists’.
During this event each competitor will be asked by the judges to perform static pole moves from the Pole Icon moves list of their specific level. To score highly, the competitor must perform the pole moves to set requirements. Competitors will enter the division(s) most suited to their level and learn specific moves provided by the organisers. Competitors will be judged by experienced judges.

Who can take part in Pole Icon?

Solo presentations only.

Girls, Boys, Women and Men.

The age range for Pole Icon is:
7 years old – 50+

Pole Icon Levels/Divisions Include:

Beginner
There are 10 beginner level pole moves on the Pole Icon beginner moves list.

Intermediate
There are 15 intermediate level pole moves on the Pole Icon intermediate moves list.

Advanced
There are 15 advanced level pole moves on the Pole Icon advanced moves list.

How do you enter Pole Icon 2019?
No video entries are required! Competitors need to send an online entry form. The entry forms will be available before the end of January. I will send you the links to the entry forms as soon as they go live.
Early bird entries and payment due by 26th April 2019 – R200.
Final entries and payment due by 6th May 2019 – R250.
